It’s easy to see how the tomato juice myth got started.The odor of skunk spray is actually an oil secretion containing smelly chemicals. Adding a new strong scent like tomato juice will convince a pet owner that he no longer smells skunk odor. The truth is, tomato juice’s strong scent desensitizes the human nose, so that you don’t smell the odor – but it will not get rid of it. You could do this yourself by mixing hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and liquid soap, but you run the risk of bleaching your dog’s fur or any fabrics the peroxide touches.

A good rule of thumb is that a one-square-foot area will need a pint of Nature’s Miracle; a four-square-foot area will need a quart. If your carpet is soaking wet, you’ve probably used enough. Allow it to sit for about 20 minutes, and then blot the product up. For a tough stain, use a bristle brush to rub the Nature’s Miracle in before blotting.

Now a little patience is required. It’s very important that you allow the carpet to dry naturally – no fans or heat to speed it up. By the time the carpet is dry the stain and odor should be completely eliminated. If it’s not, you might have missed an area, so it should be re-treated.

Hard floors like hardwood, linoleum and cement are also very easy to clean up using Nature’s Miracle Dual Action Hard Floor Stain & Odor Remover. Teaching your puppy good manners is essential to helping everyone make the transition to a loving, healthy pet environment, and a great place to start is that “potty problem.” Housebreaking a puppy isn’t as hard as you may think – and Nature’s Miracle is here to help.
